MeLE Quieter 4C: a silent mini PC

Source
MeLE refreshed its ultra-compact Quieter 4C mini PC, replacing Intel® N100 with the more capable Intel® N150 from the new Twin Lake family. The system still stands out for passive cooling, a tiny footprint, and broad connectivity, including support for three displays.
This is one of the smallest mini PCs on the market: the chassis measures just 131 × 81 × 18 mm (5.16 × 3.19 × 0.71 in), small enough to fit in a pocket, but it still hides a capable platform for office work, media servers, and small server projects.
The main change is the move from Intel® N100 to Intel® N150. Architecturally they are identical, but N150 offers slightly higher CPU and GPU clocks, which can translate into a performance bump in some tasks. Still, given the passive cooling, the manufacturer is likely limiting power consumption to avoid overheating.
The device comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory (soldered) and an SSD via an M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 slot. It also supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, two HDMI 2.0 ports, USB-C with DisplayPort and power, plus a microSD slot and Gigabit Ethernet.
The package includes a VESA mount for attaching the system behind a monitor. It also supports Wake on LAN, PXE boot, auto power-on after power loss, and RTC wake.
Specifications:
- processor: Intel® N150 (4 cores, up to 3.6 GHz, Twin Lake),
- graphics: integrated Intel UHD Graphics (higher clock than the N100),
- memory: up to 32 GB LPDDR5 (soldered),
- storage: 1 × M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 NVMe (replaceable),
- network: 1 × Gigabit Ethernet,
- ports: 1 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps, DP Alt Mode and USB-PD), 1 × USB-C (power only, 12V/2A), 1 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps), 1 × USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gbps), 1 × USB 2.0 Type-A (480 Mbps), 2 × HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K@60Hz), 1 × 3.5 mm audio jack, 1 × microSD slot (up to 2 TB),
- wireless: Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1,
- extra: Wake on LAN, PXE, RTC Wake, Auto Power On,
- chassis: fanless, aluminum,
- dimensions: 131 × 81 × 18 mm.
